After a short hiatus from posting a blog post here, I’m happy to be back. Sorry to keep you waiting. This semester is coming to a close, and I have been submitting assignments. All the while, my moving date to Nashville is coming closer. Over the next two months, I am excited to share new content and style inspiration for you.
P.S. Today is my birthday- yayay. I am road tripping to Richmond next weekend with friends to celebrate. *sprinkles glitter all over everything *just kidding*
As I am currently going through a transitional phase in my life, finishing a degree and planning a relocation, here are my to pieces of advice for life transitions:
1) Don’t say, “I’ll be happier when…”
Be happy today. A new experience, or even a person, should not be the defining factor in changing your outlook. You control how you feel- always. While studies have shown a change of scenery has an effect on elevating your mood, it’s up to you to shift your perspective- and no one else has the ability to do that for you.
2) Be open to change.
All of life is truly transition. If you don’t change in life, then you won’t grow. Trusting that everything will happen as its meant to is one of the most important things you can do. There will be people who will stay in your life and evolve with you.
3) Take care of yourself.
With a busy schedule and added commitments, it is easy for self-care to fall by the wayside. Taking care of yourself is one of the most important factors in shifting mood, overall confidence, health, and vitality. I have recently discovered hot yoga, and it is truly my new favorite workout EVER. It is one of the most wonderful outlets to decompress while getting a killer workout and toning your body.
